Homework: After having saved a bucket-full or jar full or box of pennies, go count 'em en español, just to see how far you can get before you have to look up the numbers again!!!

Self-correction is not easy, so you really have to listen to yourself, just to see if your pronunciation matches what you're hearing on the computer. This is good practice anyway - especially for people who like to hear themselves talk without having a clue as to what they're saying.

Sixties
The 60's & 70's sound very much alike, so careful work is needed on these to make certain the differentiation is clear.
1st syllable: se (as in set)
2nd syllable: sen
3rd syllable: ta
Exercises:
Now is a good time to learn to tell ages:
English uses the verb to be.
I'm # years old.
Spanish uses the verb tener.
Tengo (número) años.
He is # years old. (name) Tiene # años.
She is # years old. (name) Tiene # años.
You are # years old. (Usted) Tiene # años.
Any "thing" is # years old.
Tiene # años.
Replace the # with any number. It's good practice to say the statements meaningfully in English first, then emulate the sincerity in the Spanish forms. Make it REAL !!
